Whitelee wind farm in Eaglesham was completed in 2009 and is Europe's largest onshore windfarm. The wind farm covers a site of 55km
2 and produces enough electricity for 180,000 homes. The wind farm is operated by Scottish Power and has a visitor centre open to the public. The centre is open during the week and people can visit the site at any time. There are paths ideal for walking or cycling with magnificent views of the countryside.
